Well we've seen snow flakes fly around in the valley a couple times this season, but nothing has stuck. And while the snow melted fast, Sunday December 3rd, 2017 officially marked the first snowfall of the season.

Three-tenths of an inch of snow were measured at the Reno-Tahoe Airport alongside measurable snow at the National Weather Service in Reno.

Last year, our first snow arrived on November 27th, 2016 with six-tenth of an inch of snow at the Reno-Tahoe Airport.

Climatologically speaking, Reno usually receives 4.9 inches of snow during the month of December, so we still have a little ways to go.

Unfortunately, man-made snow may be the only flurries in the forecast for a while as many forecast models are showing a very dry stretch into possible into the middle of December.
