Reno 1868 FC's season has been put on pause again, if only temporarily.
The club's match scheduled for Thursday at Tacoma Defiance has been postponed after a covered person in the Reno 1868 organization tested positive for COVID-19. The positive case was discovered as part of weekly routine testing.
"The individual has been immediately isolated at home, demonstrating no symptoms, and in good spirits under the care of team physicians," Reno 1868 FC said in a news release. "All league, local and state health and wellness protocols are being followed."
Reno's Oct. 3 game at Tacoma, which was previously to be played at Greater Nevada Field, will now be played in Tacoma. The two teams are scheduled to meet in Reno on Sept. 16.
After fourth months off, Reno 1868 FC (1-1-0) resumed its season Sunday in a 1-0 loss at Sac Republic FC. With the Tacoma game being postponed, Reno's next match is scheduled for Sunday at Portland Timbers 2. That game has not been altered.
