Nevada men's basketball squeezes past New Mexico 77-74

Caleb Martin and Jordan Caroline combined for 45 points, lifting the Nevada men's basketball team to a 77-74 home win over New Mexico on Saturday at Lawlor Events Center.

The Wolf Pack (12-3, 2-0) were tied with the Lobos (6-9, 1-1) at 70-all with under five minutes left before pulling away for the Mountain West Conference victory.

Martin poured in a game-high 24 points and Caroline posted a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double -- the 20th of his career. Lindsey Drew chipped in 13 points and seven boards.

Nevada hosts Wyoming at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
