Former Reno High School basketball star and now acting Louisville head men's basketball coach David Padgett has made his first coaching hire. Padgett announced Wednesday that former University of Nevada head coach Trent Johnson will be joining him on the bench. The 61 year old Johnson has 17 years of head coaching experience at Nevada, Stanford, LSU and TCU. Johnson was head coach of the Wolf Pack when Padgett was playing for the Reno Huskies in high school. Padgett took over at Louisville when Rick Pitino and two assistant coaches were placed on administrative leave after an FBI investigation into wrongdoing within the Louisville program.
