Wolf Pack athletics: Spring football kicks off, preview of Nevada-UNLV baseball series

Spring football is underway at the University of Nevada, Reno. It will be Head Coach Jay Norvell's second year with the Silver and Blue and he is wasting no time when it comes to switching up the roster.

Despite impressive numbers in his career at Nevada -- senior Malik Reed will make the transition from defensive end to linebacker.

"He runs well. We can blitz him and he can still be an excellent pass rusher which has been his strength and we can also add a little more to his game." said Norvell.

Football isn't the only sport in full swing at the university. The biggest rivalry in the state will be renewed this week at Peccole Park as the Runnin' Rebels of UNLV head to the Biggest Little City for a three games series.

Games will be played Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office.
