RENO, Nev. – Senior Madison Morell has been named to the All-Mountain West women’s volleyball team for a second year in a row following the best season of her career at Nevada.

Morell capped off her career at Nevada with an incredibly successful senior year. The Plano, Texas native ended her career seventh in the Nevada record book with 1,212 career kills and sixth in career points with 1,379.5. In her senior season, she racked up 449 kills, seventh in Nevada history, and 505.5 points, good for fourth all-time. Morell led her team to a 19-11 record, the Pack’s best season since 2002.

“When I received this honor last year, I already had it in my mind to get it again my senior year,” Morell said. “I am so glad I was able to achieve that and prove last season wasn’t just a lucky year. I wouldn’t be in this position without my teammates and coaches who made me the player I was.”

Joining Morell are senior Lyndsey Anderson and junior Madison Foley, both earning honorable mentions. Anderson also finished her career at Nevada on a high note, racking up 1,128 assists in her final season. Anderson’s 2,550 career assists cements her at sixth in program history. Foley continued to be both a defensive and offensive workhorse for the Pack, recording five double-doubles in the season and averaging 10.4 kills and 8.6 digs per match.

“Our three players’ selection is emblematic of the season we mad and represents the hard work the entire team put in this year,” said head coach Lee Nelson. “Morell consistently carried a heavy offensive load for us even when other teams were keying on her, Lyndsey ran our offense at a remarkable level of efficiency and Foley was our utility player who attacked, passed, played defense and served at a very high level. I think we had a couple other players that contributed at an all-conference level, but getting even three players recognized in a league full of talent is an accomplishment our entire team should be proud of.”
