Ask Joe: What happened to the people involved in three car crash on Mccarran?
Wednesday's Ask Joe question: Viewer Rebecca Middleton wrote in asking what happened to the people involved in the recent three car crash on South Mccarran Boulevard in Reno?
Here's what I found out:
This crash happened back on April 4th. 32 year old Virginia Couch was arrested following a three vehicle crash. Police say her car slammed into two other cars that were parked on the side of the road near Mccarran and Mira Loma.
The first driver had pulled off the road because of some mechanical problems and the second driver stopped to help when they were hit by the third car.
I checked with Lieutenant Scott Dugan with the Reno Police Department about this case.
The good news is all three of the victims who were injured have been released from the hospital and are expected to make full recoveries. Although one of them will require ongoing treatment according to Dugan.
As for the suspect, Virginia Couch, police say she was very combative at the scene and she was arrested on scene for obstructing and resisting an officer.
Police took a blood sample at the scene to test for drugs and alcohol and depending on the outcome of those toxicology tests more charges could be filed.
Those toxicology tests typically take between six and eight weeks so we'll likely know more sometime next month on whether additional charges will be filed.
