Ask Joe: NV Treasurer says delayed grant money now on the way
Reno, NEV — The Nevada Treasurer's Office says says a steps have been taken to ensure that a grant gets paid out to a special needs students who has been waiting for nearly a year to receive the money.
Maryssa Steadman applied for the TOTS grant in March of 2022. Her mother reached to us in February asking if we could help get the situation resolved. Within just a few days the Nevada Treasurer's Office confirmed to us that they had resolved the issue internally and that the money was on the way to Maryssa's account.
The Treasurer's office has paid out nearly $10 million in TOTS grants and they says occasionally there are problems with getting peoples' accounts set up to receive the money.
