RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Nevada Department of Agriculture is offering free summer meals for low-income children 18-years-old and below through the Nevada Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).
The goal of this program is to ensure that children continues to receive nutritious meals during school vacations. SFSP offers two meals a day at approved Nevada sites. This program is currently only available during the summer, and is resuming this month.
Families who are seeking food assistance for their children can contact the USDA National Hunger Hotline, which can be reached Monday-Friday between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
SFSP meal site locations include schools, camps, parks, playgrounds, housing projects, community centers, churches and other public sites where children gather in the summer.
