A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held this week to celebrate the opening of the new Truckee River Bridge, State Route 89 realignment, and two new roundabouts in Tahoe City.
RENO, Nev. (KRNV) — The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is in the process of constructing an ew roundabout at the intersection of Woodland Avenue and West 4th Street in Reno.
The project was expected to be completed by the end of May but due to weather delays, the closure will now extend until June 30.
The construction hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The purpose of the roundabout is to improve safety at the intersections of West 4th Street and Woodland Avenue, and West 4th Street and Mesa Park Road.
A study shows that the roundabout will reduce the number of crashes at these intersections by 30 percent and will reduce crash severity by slowing the speed of traffic.
