Wear blue and green to help save lives
April is Donate Life Month, and April 21 specifically is America's Wear Blue and Green Day.
The goal is to get people across the country to wear the colors blue and green, which in turn will spark conversations about organ donations and saving lives.
Each day 22 people die waiting for an organ. But the good news is by making an organ or tissue donation you alone can save up to 8 lives.
Donor Network West is a nationwide organization that medically matches donors with people waiting for transplants.
Officials at the Reno office say talking with your loved ones about becoming an organ donor isn't easy, but it's an important conversation to have.
