Harry Reid blasts Nevada PUC in Reno appearance
Sen. Harry Reid blasted Nevada's Public Utilities Commission on Wednesday during an appearance at the Washoe County Democratic headquarters.
He was asked about the commission's recent decision impacting existing rooftop solar customers.
Those customers say the commissions refusal to grandfather them in to rates prior to a rate in January.
"Warren Buffett said it all," Reid told reports. "He said, 'People don't buy utilities to get rich, they buy utilities to stay rich.' They're guaranteed money. It's perfect for them as indicated by the Public Utilities Commission here."
Reid said he supports federal legislation making net metering rates standard across the country.
