A motorist used a drone to send for help after becoming stranded on a deep snow-covered road in Lane County, Oregon.

According to the Lane County Sheriff's Office, the man typed a text to a friend saying where he was. He then attached his cell phone to the drone, since he didn't have service, and sent it up several hundred feet.

That was enough for it to pick up a signal. Rescuers were then sent out to find him. Officials were also able to find another motorist who had been stranded for several days.
