One person is dead and four are injured after a shooting Friday night outside a southeast Fresno home, according to authorities.

Deputies said the shooting happened just after 7 p.m., when shots were heard outside the home.

One man was killed and four others suffered gunshot wounds shot. One victim, identified as a child by Fresno County deputies, was grazed by a bullet.

"With regard to the child, not an infant, a child and his injuries are superficial," Lt. Joe Smith with the Fresno Co. Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said the suspect in the shooting ran south from the home, jumped several fences and ended up getting hit by a red pickup truck as he tried to cross a street to flee law enforcement.

Fresno County Sheriff's deputies and Fresno Police officers were able to take the suspect into custody. That individual is receiving treatment at a local hospital for undisclosed injuries.
