RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Officials with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office have confirmed that the body of a man who fell into the Truckee River over the weekend has been found.
Sheriff's spokesman Bob Harmon said volunteers with the department's HASTY Team located the body in the river near the Glendale Bridge at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday -- approximately two hours after they resumed the search.
Witnesses reported seeing a man fall into the river in the downtown Reno area at about 9:20 p.m. Saturday. Crews said they started looking for the man that night but suspended their search because of water turbulence and bad visibility.
Officials said volunteers were working to recover the body from the river Wednesday night. The identity of the man has not been released.
Harmon said the Reno Police Department has been contacted to determine who has jurisdiction over the case.
