Washoe County Sheriff’s Office staff raised just over $4,800 to benefit Susan G. Komen Nevada during the month of October for their “No Shave” campaign.

Sheriff Chuck Allen, Undersheriff Susan Schilling, and Chief Deputy Tom Green presented a check for $4,835 to Heather Goulding, Director of Development and Community Engagement for Susan G. Komen Nevada in mid-October to help honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

During November, the Sheriff’s Office helps celebrate “Movember” with the proceeds going to Renown Men’s Health Care.

The “No Shave” campaign will continue through the end of the year and December’s beneficiary is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada.

Washoe County residents should be prepared to see a great deal more facial hair on the faces of deputies during the coming months.
