RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Two men from Chiloquin, Oregon have been convicted in the murder of a Sparks man on California Ave. two years ago.
Daniel Shadow Bear Hutchinson and Justin Tyron Jackson were convicted of First-Degree Murder and Attempted Robbery With the Use of a Deadly Weapon.
Christopher Dressler, 37, of Sparks was killed in theOctober 2019 robbery attempt.
Hutchinson, 24, and Jackson, 55, both face a possibility of life in prison without parole at their scheduled sentencing on August 17, 2021.
After they were involved in an assault with a deadly weapon on two unrelated victims earlier in the day, Hutchinson and Jackson met Dressler at the Club Cal Neva Casino on October 11, 2019.
The victim did not know the pair but walked with them to the area of California Ave. where they then tried to rob Dressler.
Hutchinson then shot Dressler in the chest and fled the scene with Jackson.
Dressler was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police arrested the two men shortly afterwards and filed criminal charges. The men pled not guilty.
The Washoe County District Attorney's Office announced Hutchinson and Jackson were convicted of First Degree Murder on June 3, 2021.
