More than three months after she was last seen in Mono County, 16-year-old Karlie Guse remains missing.
The teen was last seen Saturday, October 13 on Ponderosa Street near White Mountain Estate Road in Chalfant, according to Mono County Sheriff's officials. Chalfant is about 11 miles north of Bishop, Calif.
Officials with the Mono County Sheriff's office say they are following up on tips that could direct them to Karlie.
"Any tip that has follow-up potential is acted upon. We have followed up on possible sightings in California and Nevada, but none of them were Karlie," said Ingrid Braun with the Mono County Sheriff's Office.
Braun says they have one deputy assigned to the case full time. Other deputies assist with leads and other follow-up investigations.
Sheriff's officials say it is unclear if Karlie is a runaway, was kidnapped or is hiding somewhere.
"At this point, we have no evidence to lead us in any one direction, so we are considering all possibilities. It is our fervent hope that she is found soon and can be reunited with her family," said Braun.
Karlie left her home without any personal belongings or a cell phone.
In the wake of her disappearance, several searches were organized. Helicopters, scent dogs, Search and Rescue teams and off-road vehicles, were all deployed as part of the search effort, authorities said.
Guse is described as being 5'7 and 110 pounds with dark blonde hair and blue eyes.
