Sparks Police: At least 2 people injured in apartment complex shooting

Sparks Police are on scene for an investigation Wednesday, April 19, 2017 (SBG)

Police say two people have been taken to a hospital after officers responded to a shooting Wednesday night in Sparks.

Officers responded to multiple reports just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, of shots fired at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Rock Blvd. One caller reported a man down and bleeding.

Police said responding officers were directed by residents to two young men laying in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Renown in unknown condition. Several shell casings have also been located at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities did not have any suspect information. The initial investigation indicates some kind of conflict led up to the shooting, according to police.

There might be other victims as a result of the shooting, and police ask anyone with information to call the Sparks Police Department or Secret Witness.

The Regional Gang Unit is also on scene investigating, though police did not say if they believed the shooting was gang-related.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
