Smoking, vaping banned in city parks across Reno
Smoking and vaping is now prohibited in city parks across the Biggest Little City.
The Reno City Council passed the ordinance that went into effect on August 10 that prohibits smoking, tobacco use of any kind, and smoking vaporized devices in any park, trail or recreation facility within 100 feet of sporting fields, spectator areas, and the entrances to all recreation facilities. Smoking is permitted in designated, marked areas only.
The Reno Police Department will be advising park-goers of the new ordinance over the next month in an effort to build awareness.
