RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The 70th year of the Junior Ski Program will begin Saturday, January 19.
Those interested can register online for the 8-week ski instruction program.
Kids from age four to 18 receive instruction for skiing or snowboarding for two hours in the morning, and then get to ski on their own, with friends or their parents. A full cafeteria for lunch and snacks will be offered as well.
Sky Tavern offers all levels of instruction, from beginner to racer, for both kids and adults. There is also bus transportation available for students needing a ride to the hill.
Since Sky Tavern is a volunteer-run organization, parental involvement is key to its success. Participating parents join the nonprofit for $40 and volunteer for two hours. If parents want to ski or board with their kids, they can purchase a ski pass.
