Inmate who committed suicide in Washoe Co. jail identified
According to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office, an inmate who committed suicide at the Washoe County Jail on Jan. 10 by hanging himself has been identified as 56-year-old Morris Reed of Carson City.
According to the sheriff’s office, at 10:53 a.m. detention facility deputies were notified of a possible medical emergency inside one of the cells.
When deputies arrived at the cell they located a non-responsive adult male inmate on the floor.
Deputies immediately began life-saving measures until medical staff arrived. The inmate was declared deceased by medical staff at 11:25 a.m.
Officials say, the inmate was alone in his cell at the time of the incident.
