The incident began at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Deputies were investigating a report of possible shots fired in the area of Chimney and Leon Drives when they were approached by a dark colored Toyota Tundra. They attempted to stop the vehicle to see if the driver could provide any information related to the shots fired call when the Tundra suddenly drove off at a high rate of speed.
Deputies pursued the Tundra and discovered that the driver had driven the vehicle into a guard rail near the intersection of Sun Valley Boulevard and Highland Ranch Parkway and fled the scene. They discovered that the Tundra had been reported stolen earlier in the day and a perimeter was established. Sheriff’s Office K9 units and officers from the Reno Police Department assisted with the search.
