Reno Starbucks customers 'pay it forward' a whopping 120 times

RENO, Nev. (KRNV/KRXI) - Picture this.

You're sitting in the Starbucks drive-thru on your morning commute, you approach the window, and a smiling barista informs you that your order has been paid for by the customer in front of you.

We've all been there, and - admit it - there are few things that brighten your day quite like finding out your grande latte has been covered by the kindness of others.

Now, imagine this day-brightening scenario playing out for a whopping 120 people north of Reno.

Starbucks manager Nicole Dutra, who works at the store at Buck and Lemmon drives, tells us a streak of 120 customers paid for one another's orders Thursday morning in the drive-thru.

Customers started paying it forward at about 7:15 a.m. and the streak continued for three hours, Dutra said.

Dutra says it's the longest streak of kindness she's seen in the five years she's managed that Starbucks location.
