
RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Police say a homeowner acted in self defense when they shot and killed an intruder in Reno Saturday night.
Officers with the Reno Police Department responded to the 2000 block of Idlewild Drive just before 10 p.m. on Jan. 22 on the report of a homeowner who shot an intruder. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, the homeowner and a witness.
Police said the suspected home intruder was dead on scene and the homeowner is cooperating with the investigation. An arrest will not be made at this time as the shooting appears to be an act of self defense, according to the Reno Police Department.
