Reno Fire responds to dust explosion at spice manufacturing building in Stead

Reno Fire reports that a fire occurred on April 5, 2016 at a spice manufacturing plant in Stead.

RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Reno Fire reports that a combustible dust explosion occurred at the High Quality Organics building in Stead on Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the factory employs 40 personnel, but no one was injured in the incident.

Initial investigation seems to indicate that a combustible dust explosion in a grinding hopper occurred, but that the fire was contained to the hopper and vents.
