A five-acre brush fire in Washoe Valley broke out after the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Raven helicopter hit a power line and then made an emergency landing on Saturday, Oct. 27.

There are no reports of any injuries.

It happened just before 3 p.m. and fire crews were able to extinguish the fire before it damaged any structures.

According to the sheriff's office, Raven was flying as part of Vice President Mike Pence's motorcade that was heading to Carson City for a Republican rally.

The southbound lanes of I-580 have been reopened with no restrictions. The northbound lanes are also back open, with one section in the far right lane shut down where the helicopter is located.

About 215 NV Energy customers in the Lakeview community are without power. NV Energy is one the scene working to restore power.

Fire crews are on the scene mopping up.
