Ramp closures to impact Stead, Mustang, and I-80 and 4th
Several upcoming ramp closures will affect overnight traffic from July 10 to July 31.
The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will be resurfacing freeway ramps.
Motorists will see periodic overnight freeway ramp closures as the NDOT repaves three interstate ramps.
Approximately three inches of pavement will be removed and repaved for a smoother and safer drive at the following freeway ramps:
• Northbound U.S. 395 off-ramp to Stead Boulevard and Stead Boulevard on-ramp to southbound U.S. 395
Periodic overnight ramp closures between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. July 10 through July 31.
• Eastbound I-80 off-ramp to East Fourth Street
Ramp scheduled to close July 18 and July 24 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
• Various I-80 ramps to Mustang Road
Patching of select ramp surfaces and replacement of cattle guards at various Mustang interchange ramps, with periodic overnight ramp closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. July 11 through July 31. Only one Mustang-area ramp will be closed at a time.
Signage will be placed before the start of each specific ramp closure to advise motorists of upcoming ramp closures. Detour routes will be noted.
The approximately $874,000 in road improvements by contractor Granite Construction work complements NDOT’s proactive pavement preservation program through which state roadway surfaces are preserved and resurfaced before needing more extensive and costly repairs.
Work is anticipated to complete by July 31 and work schedule is subject to change.
