Postal service in northern Nevada asks pet owners to keep tight leash on dogs
The United States Postal Service has been sending out postcards to remind pet owners to keep their dogs away from mail carriers when they come to deliver mail.
On the postcard Postmaster, Jerry DePaoli, writes the message:
Dog attacks are a nationwide issue and not just a postal problem. Any dog can bite and all attacks are preventable through responsible pet ownership.
DePaoli continues by reminding customers of the following (check with local ordinances):
- All dogs must be licensed.
- Proof of rabies vaccination is requires.
- It is unlawful to allow dogs to run at large within the city.
