One dead in early morning home fire in Dayton

DAYTON. Nev. (News 4 & FOX 11) — One person died in an early morning fire in Dayton Saturday, according to Lyon County.

Lyon County Manager Jeff Page said Central Lyon Fire crews responded to a house fire on Nugget Lane just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

Fire crews from Storey County, North Lyon, Carson Fire and Eastfork helped battle the blaze.

Two residents were able to make it out of the home, but one did not.

One firefighter was also injured and has been treated and released.

The Central Lyon Fire and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the fire.

Page said the State Fire Marshal was also notified.
