Nye County Sheriff's Office deputy unconscious after being hit by a car in Tonopah
The Nye County Sheriff's Office says one of its deputies was knocked unconscious after being hit by a car in downtown Tonopah on Monday night.
According to Lt. David Boruchowitz, police responded to a vehicle fire on US-95 in Tonopah shortly before 9 p.m. on May 21.
While responding, Sergeant Duane Downing was struck by a vehicle.
According to Boruchowitz, Downing is at UMC in Las Vegas in serious but stable condition.
