RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A proposed design for an NHL-sized ice rink in south Reno has been approved by the Board for the Greater Reno Community Ice Skating Association on Tuesday, July 11.
The facility would be located in south Reno and be open year-round.
The rink, which would be titled the Jennifer M. O’Neal Community Ice Arena will be submitted for public approval in the coming months.
User fees for the rink would cover operating costs for the facility.
The Board also plans to implement a scholarship program to give all children the ability to use the rink’s facilities.
