Nevada governor fills family court judge vacancy in Reno
A Washoe County juvenile court hearing master in Reno has been promoted to family court judge.
Gov. Brian Sandoval announced Tuesday that Dixie Grossman will fill the judicial vacancy created when Egan Walker was appointed last year to a Second Judicial District Court seat in Washoe County.
Grossman is 42 and was the only applicant for the post. Her nomination was approved March 12 by the Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection.
Grossman worked for five years in the firm Silverman, Decaria & Kattleman before becoming a juvenile court hearing master in 2013.
Sandoval notes that Grossman has authored articles about family law topics and served on juvenile justice and family law panels with the state courts and the state bar.
