CLEVELAND (KRNV/KRXI) - The chairman of the Nevada Republican Party appeared to misspeak during the roll call vote for the Republican National Convention.

Michael McDonald, who called out the state's delegates for presidential candidates, referred to Las Vegas as "the most entertaining capital city."

Carson City is the capital of Nevada, while Las Vegas is often called the entertainment capital of the world.

The reaction on social media was swift, including a jab from late-night host and former Vegas resident Jimmy Kimmel.

Bob Crowell, mayor of Carson City, linked to the video of the apparent flub on Twitter, saying he wanted to "extend a personal invite to this gentleman to #visitcarsoncity. We're awesome."
