N. Nevada law enforcement recruits celebrate graduation with pride run
Twenty-four men and women celebrated their upcoming graduation from the Northern Nevada Law Enforcement Academy with the traditional pride run on Thursday.
The recruits completed more than 800 hours of intensive training to join local law enforcement agencies.
The graduation ceremony will be held Friday morning at the Silver Legacy in downtown Reno.
Graduates first celebrated first with the six-mile run Thursday, Nov. 30, from the Regional Public Safety Training Center to the James D. Hoff Peace Officer's Memorial at Idlewild Park.
Of the 24 graduates, 10 are from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, eight from the Reno Police Department, two from the Sparks Police Department, two from the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police Department, one from the University of Reno, Nevada Police Department, and one from Washoe County Juvenile Services.
