One man is dead and police are searching for a suspect after a late-night shooting at a south Reno apartment complex, according to Sgt. KC Myers.

Police responded to multiple reports of shots fired on the 100 block of East Grove Street shortly before midnight on Tuesday, February 6.

When authorities arrived on scene, they located a male who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound who was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead, according to Myers.

One witness told a News 4 reporter on scene she heard five or six gunshots.

Police are searching for the victim's car which is described as a white 1995 Honda Accord with California license plate "7XJB326". Authorities have reason to believe the occupant of the stolen vehicle is armed.

The Reno Police Department's Robbery and Homicide Division has taken over the investigation.
