A man was arrested in Sparks after a police pursuit Monday night that ended with the suspect crashing.

Sparks Police Department (SPD) officers located a stolen motor vehicle in the 2200 block of Oddie Blvd. on Nov. 28 shortly before 8:30 p.m. The vehicle, a 1998 Honda CRV, left the area while officers were attempting to determine if it was occupied.

SPD officers attempted a traffic stop just after 8:30 p.m. but the vehicle fled.

Officers pursued the vehicle briefly, however at the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle failed to negotiate a slight turn near the 2300 block of E. 9th Street, just west of Silverado Boulevard and struck a vehicle in the intersection. The stolen vehicle then veered into a yard on the south side of E. 9th Street where it struck a parked vehicle. The vehicle then drove through a rod iron fence, hit some vegetation and rolled at least once.

The vehicle eventually came to rest in the front yard of an unoccupied residence.
