Light snow on Mt. Rose Highway; I-80 open no controls

Light snow is falling on the Mt.Rose Highway but the road is open with no controls as of 11:23 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, according to NDOT.

Interstate 80 is also open with no controls after receiving some snow over Donner Summit on early this morning, according to Caltrans.

According to Caltrans the following roads are closed in California:

Tioga Pass, State Route 120, is closed from Crane Flat to five miles west of the junction of U.S. 395 due to snow.

Sonora Pass, State Route 108, is closed from 26 miles east of Strawberry to three miles west of the junction with U.S. 395 due to snow.

Ebbetts Pass, State Route 4, is closed from just east of the Junction of State Route 207, the Reba turnoff, to the junction of State Route 89.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route.

Chain controls are also in effect on State Route 267 from Northstar to Kings Beach, according to California Highway Patrol.
