RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) -- Local firefighters are returning home after spending about two weeks battling the deadly Carr Fire in Redding, California.
Reno fire fighters navigated 50 to 60 foot flames as they tried to stop the fire from torching homes.
A firefighter from the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Dillon Lowe, is now back home after spending two weeks working 16 hour days.
"Oh it was terrible, you'd drive through whole neighborhoods that were completely wiped out," said Lowe.
For firefighters, the Carr Fire was in a league of it's own.
The Carr fire is now more than 60 percent contained and has burned 202,976 acres.
