Injury crash at Mira Loma & McCarran in Reno sends several to the hospital
A 32-year-old woman was arrested after four people were injured in three-vehicle crash at the at the intersection of Mira Loma and South McCarran on Wednesday, April 4.
According to the Reno Police, Virginia Couch was arrested after a report of a crash about 8:40 p.m.
Police say a black Jeep Cherokee had broken down and pulled to the side of the road just north of the intersection.
A second vehicle arrived to assist in getting the Jeep restarted. All three occupants were out of their vehicles trying to get the Jeep going again when a third vehicle traveling north on South McCarran struck both vehicles and their passengers.
All three people sustained major injuries and were transported to a local hospital with a teenage juvenile sustaining life threatening injuries.
Couch, who was driving the vehicle that hit the parked vehicles, attempted to leave the scene and was creating a physical disturbance.
She was arrested for battery on a police officer and obstructing and resisting a police officer.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the Reno Police Major Accident Investigation Team ( M.A.I.T.) responded to the scene and is continuing the investigation.
Reno police on scene told News 4 that two of three vehicles involved in the crash rolled onto their sides.
