RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A home in northwest Reno has been completely destroyed after a fire broke out early Wednesday morning.
According to Reno Fire Battalion Chief Mike Pilcher, crews arrived at the home on Moose Ridge Dr. just before 2 a.m. to find it 60 percent involved in flames.
Firefighters were forced to evacuate the home and fight the fire from the outside due to the threat of collapse.
RFD says they believe no one was home when the fire broke out, and no other injuries have been reported.
Crews were able to knock down the fire within half an hour of responding, and the fire investigator remains on scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
