Google brings economic opportunity to Reno
Google is coming to Reno as part of the tech company’s "Grow with Google" initiative to help create economic opportunity in communities across the United States.
Google will kick start a free, one-day event at the Nevada Museum of Art on August 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Google staff will lead hands-on workshops about online marketing for small businesses, search engine optimization, email basics and coding.
Attendees can sign up for one-on-one training with Google staff, and tour demo booths to learn more about Google’s free products for learners and small businesses.
Google has launched Grow with Google in October of last year.
"We are very excited that Grow with Google is coming to Reno, Nevada! This speaks to the continued momentum and potential in this region. I think the programming will resonate with small business owners, job seekers, and the robust startup community here in Reno." Douglas Erwin, SVP Entrepreneurial Development, Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN)
“By bringing the Grow with Google Tour to Reno, we hope to provide learners with the digital skills necessary to succeed in the new economy,” said Aisha Taylor, Community Engagement Manager for Grow with Google. “We are grateful to have Senator Heller working alongside us on this event and value his commitment to digital literacy for his constituents.”
