Four arrested in connection to car theft and drug warrants

Two men were arrested and a stolen car, drugs and a gun were found in a home in Applegate on Thursday, July 5.

Deputies learned of a stolen BMW near Hidden Meadows Way in Applegate and they contacted RATTF, the Placer County Regional Auto Theft Task Force.

Detectives from RATTF and CHP, along with Sheriff’s deputies and Special Operations detectives served the a search warrant.

When deputies arrived with the warrant, 47-year-old Brian Costanzo and 33-year-old Clay Dossa, ran from the house, only to be apprehended by deputies waiting for them in the woods.

During the search, detectives located the stolen BMW, a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and a loaded pistol.

They also found 24-year-old Connor Hand and 21-year-old Samantha Bowling, hiding in a closet.

All four had previous warrants for their arrest and they were all booked at the Placer County Jail in Auburn.

Dossa was booked for additional drug charges and Costanzo was booked on additional charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, drug charges, and weapons charges.

Costanzo is being held on two no-bail warrants, Dossa’s bail is set at $17,500, Hand’s bail is set at $67,000, and Bowling has five no-bail warrants. All suspects remain in custody.
