The Mills B. Lane Courthouse is closed until further notice because of a fire alarm activation early Monday morning, according to Washoe County officials.

The fire alarm was activated and sprinklers went off at about 7:40 a.m., prompting a temporary evacuation.

Some flooding occurred in parts of the building and a restoration crew is currently assessing the extent of the water damage.

The District Attorney's Office is closed for the day. The Reno Justice Court and Second Judicial District Court, Family Division have reopened, and no court cases in those courts have been cancelled, per Washoe County.

The Reno Fire Department is actively investigating the incident.
