CARSON CITY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — It was a bittersweet morning at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center.
Trent Almeida, 22, has been battling cancer for over three years now. On Monday morning, he received his final treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, visitation has been extremely limited at the cancer center so Almeida's mom threw him a socially-distanced celebration in the hospital's parking lot.
The family hopes to spread the message of hope and perseverance during these unprecedented times.
