SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says that their investigative team has determined not to file charges following an extensive investigation of a fatal accident involving a motorcyclist and a school bus.
According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, the motorcyclist killed in Monday’s crash was 68-year-old Robert Martin of Sparks.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Offices says the crash was reported at the intersection of La Posada Drive and Rockwell Boulevard shortly before 9 a.m. on August 27.
Authorities say that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
Washoe County Sheriff's Office says the motorcycle was traveling westbound on La Posada Drive just west of the Rockwell Boulevard roundabout when it struck a school bus that was making a left turn from a business driveway to the eastbound lane of La Posada Drive.
The Sheriff's Office Investigation team conducted a one month investigation in which witness interviews were conducted.
The investigation determined that neither driver was able to see the other in time to prevent the crash.
