East Fork Fire Protection District contains Topaz brush fire

East Fork Fire Department respond to Topaz Brush Fire (Stacie Wilke)

East Fork Fire responded to a wildfire burning on Topaz Road near the Topaz Lake area, one mile east of U.S. Highway 395 South on June 23.

U.S. Forest Service, Antelope Fire, and BLM were also on the site.

The fire was completely contained at about 2:00 p.m Saturday afternoon. Topaz road has reopened.

Cause of the fire was by a crow interfering with a power line.

The fire was first reported at around 10:10 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center in Minden.

The East Fork Fire Protection District says that the area is dry enough to spark any fire.
