RENO, Nev. (News 4) -- Students, teachers, parents and coaches crowded the Washoe County School District Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday in a show of support for a Wooster High School employee.

They wore "Justice for Coach Malcolm" stickers during the meeting as over 20 people spoke up in public comment to say that they wanted Coach Ron Malcolm to be reinstated as a coach.

They took an hour and a half to express their frustration, and the topic wasn't even on the agenda.

Wooster volleyball athletes say that Malcolm made a racial comment to one of his 15-year-old athletes during practice.

An investigation into the comment was conducted by the WCSD, and officials met with Hannah Chatfield and her parents last week to devise a plan for Hannah to feel safe going back to school.

News 4 has learned that Malcolm has been removed as the baseball and volleyball coach.

WCSD wouldn't comment on this incident saying, "Malcolm remains employed," and "because this is an ongoing confidential personnel matter," they can't comment further or provide an interview.
