RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Detectives with the Washoe County Sheriff's office are searching for answers after at least three South Reno homes were hit with gunfire on four different occasions.
The shootings have happened during the past several months with most occurring overnight. In one instance, the shooter or shooters fired half a dozen rounds into the side and fence of a Mt. Rose area home.
The shootings have happened in the area of Thompson Lane, Portland Drive and the Arrowcreek/Zolezzi Lane area.
A spokesperson for the Washoe County Sheriff's Office says it's still too early in the investigation to determine if the cases are connected.
In the Thompson Lane area, someone fired five rounds into the side of a house and a fence during the overnight hours in mid-October 2018. The same area experienced a second shooting with half a dozen rounds being fired at the house at about 2 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2018.
Also in October, a round was fired into a house in the Arrowcreek/Zolezzi Lane, according to Sheriff's officials.
On December 12, someone fired a round into a house on Portland Drive at about 10 p.m. The round went through the garage door and shattered the back window a vehicle.
Washoe County Sheriff's officials are urging residents in the area to be aware of their surroundings. They are urging residents to report any suspicious activity.
Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $500 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection with a shots fired in the area of Thompson Lane.
