Former U.S. Vice President Dan Quayle said he liked Donald Trump's speech to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Quayle, who served as the VP under George H.W. Bush, is taking part in the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in South Lake Tahoe.

He spoke with News 4-Fox 11's Alexandria Cannito, saying he doesn't trust Hillary Clinton.

"Donald Trump is still somewhat of an unknown quantity, and if he gets up to it, I think he'll do a good job," Quayle said.

He said he thought Trump's RNC speech was comprehensive.

"Probably a little bit too long, but he's becoming a politician, so he likes to talk," Quayle added.
